The Oakley Police Department says a 16-year-old driving recklessly led police on a pursuit that resulted in a crash.
On September 24, 2024 at 10:14PM, one of our supervisors directed officers to the area of Carpenter Road and Brown Road to investigate complaints of reckless driving occurring in the area. One of our officers observed a sliver Infinity do two “donuts” in the intersection of Carpenter Road and Rose Avenue.
An Oakley police officer attempted to stop the violator, but the driver failed to yield to the emergency lights and siren. The driver of the Infiniti fled to Main Street and accelerated in a clear attempt to avoid contact with our officer. The driver of the Infiniti ran a red light at the intersection of Main Street and Laurel Road where it collided with a Honda occupied by three people; both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
The Honda was occupied by two male occupants and one female occupant. The female was pinned in the Honda and had to be extricated by the Consolidated Fire Department, she was then transported to a local hospital for a leg injury. The two male passengers were treated on the scene by an AMR ambulance crew.
The driver of the Infiniti was a 16-year-old male from Oakley, due to the suspects age we will not be identifying him. The male suspect sustained a major leg injury and he was also transported to a local hospital by an AMR ambulance crew.
This case will be forwarded seeking a criminal complaint against the 16 year old for evading a traffic officer and for causing injuries to others.
No other information released.

A 16 year old kid. Running from the police. Causes a crash that caused injuries. Becton will let him walk since she, just like Price in Alameda County, is a Soros funded progressive DA that believes in “restorative justice”. Wrist slap and the kid will be right back out on the streets causing mayhem. Maybe next time, he’ll get someone killed and then these DAs will have the blood on their hands.
Another valedictorian making the area a better place.
