Concord, CA- The Contra Costa County Public Works Department would like to notify the public that an Air Force C-130J from the 314th Airlift Wing in Little Rock Air Force Base will be passing through Buchanan Field for an off-station training mission. They will be here to support Girls in Aviation Day.
While the C-130 is quieter than many aircraft that utilize Buchanan Field on a daily basis, it will look different han what you’re used to seeing. On arrival, as part of the crew’s training mission, they will be flying the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) published instrument approach to the airport and will use standard FAA departure procedures when leaving. We understand that a different look and sound of military aircraft can be unexpected, but we would like to assure the community that this is a planned training mission for the 314th Airlift Wing.

- Time Window: 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
