Traffic Stops in Santa Rosa, Turlock Net Arrests of Antioch Men

A pair of traffic stops in Santa Rosa and Turlock led to the arrest of two Antioch men in separate incidents where they had firearms in the vehicle after a traffic stop. A total of four recent traffic stops resulted in loaded firearms being located.

Santa Rosa Police: Loaded Revolver Found During Traffic Stop

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 pm, an officer with the Santa Rosa Police Department conducted an enforcement stop on a black Dodge Charger in the area of Stony Point Rd. and West 3rd Street for a vehicle equipment violation.

The officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and smelled the strong odor of burnt Marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded revolver beneath the right front passenger seat. The right front passenger, Mateo Juventino Rognlien, a 24-year-old resident of Antioch claimed to be the owner of the firearm, however, the firearm was not registered to him. Clothing and other indicia commonly associated with criminal street gangs was located inside the vehicle as well. The driver was released.

Rognlien was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:

  • 25850(c)(6) PC – Unlawfully possessing a firearm
  • 25400(a)(1) PC- Carrying a concealed firearm
  • Santa Rosa Police Department case number 24-11651.

Turlock Police:Loaded Firearm Found During Traffic Stop

On September 24th, shortly after 1:00 AM, Turlock Police Officer Nunez conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a broken headlight and expired registration. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Robert Campbell from Antioch, was contacted. Campbell stated that the vehicle was not his and that he was driving it back to the Bay Area for a relative. During a consent search, Officer Nunez discovered an unregistered, loaded Glock 30 and a high-capacity magazine in the vehicle. Additionally, Campbell was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently booked at the Stanislaus County Safety Center on multiple firearm and narcotic charges.

Antioch Police: Loaded Firearm Found During Traffic Stop

Last night (Sept. 23), at about 11 pm, Officer Tryner and FTO Kawalya conducted a proactive traffic stop near G St. and W. 10th Street. During the stop, the driver showed signs of impairment, and was subsequently arrested for DUI. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, an unregistered loaded firearm, a scale used for weighing illegal drugs, and prescription medications.

Antioch Police: Stolen Firearm Recovered

On September 22nd, Officer Molina was dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle on San Carlos Drive. Officer Molina contacted the driver who was less than cooperative with the stop and appeared extremely nervous. When the driver was removed from the vehicle a loaded STOLEN firearm fell from inside the vehicle and landed on the ground! It’s good police work and calls from citizens like this one, that will help to turn the tide on violence in our community.

Way to go Blue. That’s why Tyreek Hill was pulled out of vehicle for not listening to officers. They never know who’s packing. Not surprised that Antioch thugs were involved at all.
