Purpose-Built Launches Death to Cancer Campaign to Raise $25k for Families Facing Cancer

by CC News

Purpose-Built, California’s leading workwear retailer for the trades, announced its 2024 Death to Cancer Campaign. With a goal of raising $25,000 throughout October for the Hey There Delilah Foundation, Purpose-Built is on a mission to ignite hope for tomorrow for families impacted by cancer.

The Hey There Delilah Foundation offers financial support and guidance to families facing cancer, both children and adults, who struggle with emotional and financial burdens and was created in memory of Delilah Loya, a 9-year-old who tragically lost her battle with stage four neuroblastoma.

“Delilah’s fight was our fight, and her loss is something no family should endure alone. We are more determined than ever to support other families navigating the unimaginable challenges of cancer,” said Samantha Loya, Delilah’s mother and founder of the Hey There Delilah Foundation.

“Every year, Purpose-Built raises funds to support families that have been impacted by cancer.  We firmly believe people motivate people and we understand the power of standing together in tough times.  It’s amazing to see our team and customers rally behind the cause and build genuine connection around what really matters. We hear stories almost every week about customers battling and it makes us want to do more and more each year.  And the best part is always writing a check at the end of the month and saying we lived our mission to make each trade and community stronger team! Every donation, every story, every merch sale – directly impacted a family in need!” said Kris Johnson, founder and CEO of Purpose-Built.

Purpose-Built has secured support and participation from its generous partners including Carhartt, Dickies, Heatwave, Timberland Pro and Keen Utility.

In Delilah’s honor, Purpose-Built will host several events:

  • Death to Cancer Car & Truck Shows:
    • A free event for community and families to attend and three different opportunities to participate:
      • October 5th – Fresno, CA
      • October 13th – Oakley, CA (Sponsored by Keen Utility and GCE)
      • October 20th – Livermore, CA (Sponsored by Timberland PRO)
      • Each event will feature 150-200 cars with over 500 guests attending with raffles, food trucks, a live band, face painting for the kids and a dunk tank!
  • ‘Fight Cancer on the Green’ Charity Golf Tournament: October 28 at Shadow Lakes Golf Club sponsored by 805.

Thank you Purpose Built October 10, 2024 - 8:29 am

Purpose Built is such an amazing company. They do more for the local communities than any other business I am aware of. In times where businesses are closing up all over, its so great to see a family owned business having so much success.
