The Oakley Police Department arrested Marlowe Rodriguez, 41 of Brentwood, in connection to shots fired after a poker game on Yosemite Circe in the City of Oakley.

According to police, last Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 2:42AM our officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Yosemite Circle for the report of several shots being heard in the area.

Several more calls started to come in as our officers were on their way. Our officers arrived and began their initial investigation and determined a man, who was in a white truck, fired rounds at a house, but nobody was injured.

Officers found spent shell casings in the street and they began to collect evidence, to include video files. During our investigation, it was determined the shooting was done by a man who had lost money in a poker game that was occurring in a nearby house.

The man was upset over the loss of the money which led to a dispute and culminated in the shooting.

This case was turned over to our detectives who tarted a detailed investigation, which included the writing of several search warrants. In fairly short order our detectives discovered the identity of the shooter in this case was Marlowe Rodriguez (41, Brentwood).

Upon this discovery, our detectives wrote a pre-complaint warrant for Rodriguez’s arrest and arrested him on October 15, 2024.

Detectives searched the home and vehicles of Rodriguez and found him to be in possession of several calibers of ammunition and several hundreds of rounds in those calibers. Rodriguez was booked for negligently discharging a firearm and for unlawful possession of ammunition.

No other information was released
