Just before 12:00 pm Saturday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a vegetation fire in the 900 block of Carpino St in the City of Pittsburg.
A 2nd alarm response was requested by Truck 84 who arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke and flames coming from a fence fire that extended to an outbuilding. There was also vegetation on fire along the Pittsburg-Antioch Highway which was requested to be shut down. A helicopter was also performing water drops
By 12:09 pm, the fire was knocked down on the structure and were moving to wild land responses with fire extending to backyards of properties. Units on scene were also determined to be sufficient.
By 12:18 pm, Contra Costa County Fire says this fire has been knocked down after involving one structure, crews will be on scene, continue to avoid the area.
