Antioch, CA — After a week off, racing returns to Antioch Speedway this Saturday night. There are just three races left, and Saturday’s show will offer the popular lineup of IMCA sanctioned Modifieds, Sport Modifieds and Stock Cars along with the Pacific Coast Hobby Stocks.

In addition to this news, management just announced a $15 ticket price for adult general admission, which means a $5 savings for the fans. This ticket price will be offered for the final three races of the season.

The October 26th show is the popular Track or Treat race. The Hunt Wingless Spec Sprint Series runs their second to last championship race that night, joined by the Limited Late Models, Super Stocks, the Chet Thomson Memorial Hardtop race and the Mini Stocks.

The season closes with the biggest event of the year, the Fourth Annual Pacific Coast Hobby Stock Nationals. The winner will collect $3,000 with second receiving $1,500 and third $1,000. Just taking the green flag in the Main Event will assure the driver $300, meaning there should be some top-notch talent from throughout the state on hand for that show.

Also competing in the final race will be the IMCA Sport Modifieds, who will race for a $1,000 first prize. The night will conclude with the always exciting Figure 8.

There are no points on the line for this week’s race, but there are bragging rights for the winners. Kellen Chadwick assured himself of the championship with his third place finish in the finale. The Oakley driver picked up a pair of victories this year, while season runner up Troy Foulger of Oakley had three wins.

At Bakersfield last week, Foulger wrapped up the IMCA Modified and Stock Car championships in the Central California Clash, also winning the IMCA Stock Car Main Event. Meanwhile, third ranked Andrew Pearce of Oakley still has everybody talking. The three-time winner won both nights of the Bowers Memorial race two weeks ago.

Jason Ryan Jr of Oakley suffered the agony of defeat at the championship season finale back in September. He’s once again the point runner up to Pacheco’s Kenny Shrader, who won his third race of the season that night. Ryan, however returned with a vengeance to win both nights of the Bower’s Memorial two weeks ago, then followed it up by wrapping up the Sport Modified championship in the Central California Clash.

Jason Jennings of Pittsburg may not be able to make this IMCA Stock Car race following his heat race crash at the Bowers Memorial. However, he can call himself this year’s IMCA Stock Car champion. Jason Robles of Rio Vista is the championship runner-up, and he won the opening night of the Bowers Memorial for his third win of the season. The second night of the Bowers race was the fifth win of the season for 2023 champion Troy Foulger.

The Pacific Coast Hobby Stock championship was won by Ryan Hart of Dos Palos. Hart used his third place finish in the point finale to wrap up the honors. This comes on the heels of his second Merced Speedway Hobby Stock title a year earlier. Clarence Holbrook III of Galt won the point finale for his fifth victory of the season, but he will settle for second in the standings ahead of James Thomson of Pittsburg.

Thomson was going for the Petaluma Speedway title two weeks ago and looked like he might get a win before tangling with the driver he was battling, ending his race. As luck would have it, Jon Haney of Brentwood picked up his first feature win in several years, elevating him to the Petaluma Speedway title. Making the win even more sweeter was that Jon had to hold off his son Colten Haney of Brentwood, who settled for second.

Saturday night’s show offers the fans the classic lineup that they know and love. It’s also the final opportunity to see the IMCA Modifieds and Stock Cars this year. There aren’t too many opportunities left to see racing at Antioch Speedway this year, and this is a show you won’t want to miss.

The gates will open at 4:00 with the first race starting at 6:00.

Adult tickets are $15, Senior/Military $15, Kids (5-12) $15 and kids four and under free.
