About Measure X
Measure X is a voter-approved sales tax initiative in Contra Costa County aimed at funding critical services such as health care, emergency response, social services, and youth programs to meet the evolving needs of the community.

About the Community Youth Center (CYC):
Founded in 1995, CYC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that currently serves over 2,000 youth in the Concord area through programs in sports, gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, tutoring, and counseling. With this new Measure X funding, CYC will expand its operations into a 75,000-square-foot facility at the former Big C Athletic Club on Galaxy Court. The new location will double the center’s capacity, allowing CYC to serve up to 3,800 young people.

CYC has already secured $2 million in state funding and $1.5 million from the City of Concord for the renovation of this facility. This $5 million grant from the County will complete the necessary funding for renovations. The construction is expected to be completed by July 2025, with the new facility scheduled to open in September 2025.
