The California Highway Patrol reports that a male passenger has died in a solo vehicle crash on I-80 at the Willow Avenue off-ramp in Hercules.
According to CHP, early this morning, at approximately 12:44am, CHP Contra Costa was advised of a solo vehicle crash on westbound I-80 at the Willow Avenue Off-ramp. A black Lexus sedan, occupied by one female driver and one male passenger, was traveling westbound on I-80 when it collided with a large tree. CHP and emergency personnel arrived on scene and the passenger was pronounced deceased. The driver was transported to the hospital for major injuries and is expected to recover.
