Park Entrance Free for Veterans, Service Members, and Retirees on Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, the East Bay Regional Park District is honoring veterans, service members, and retirees with a FREE Park Entrance Day.

The fee waiver includes FREE parking and park entry to all East Bay Regional Parks, including Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont. It DOES NOT include dog fees, boat launch or inspection fees, fishing permits, or concessions, such as the Tilden Merry-Go-Round and Redwood Valley Railway steam train.

The East Bay Regional Park District is the largest regional park system in the nation, comprising 73 parks, 55 miles of shoreline, and over 1,330 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and environmental education. The Park District receives an estimated 30 million visits annually throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties in the San Francisco Bay Area.

City of Brentwood: Join local veterans’ group as they host a Ceremony at Veterans Park (3841 Balfour Rd) on Nov 11 at 10:30 am. This is a free public event that includes guest speakers, vocalist, tributes to veterans, rifle salute and taps.

City of Martinez: a Flag Raising, Veterans Memorial Building, 930 Ward St. at 9:00 a.m. at Pioneer Cemetery, 115 Tarantino Dr. at 10:00 a.m. Service at City Hall Plaza at 11:00 a.m. Participation by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1351, Martinez.


City of Moraga: The annual celebration held each year outdoors at the Moraga Commons Park, from 9 am to 10 am. The park is located at 1425 St. Mary’s Road in Moraga. This event features an honor guard and parade of Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, brief remarks by local elected officials, and an opportunity to honor the veterans from our community.


City of Oakley: The City of Oakley is holding a Veterans Day Ceremony to honor those who have served on Monday, November 11th from 11:00 AM in Civic Center Plaza (3231 Main Street).


City of Pittsburg: Veterans’ Day will be honored on November 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the City of Pittsburg Senior Center (300 Presidio Drive) Join The United Veterans Council to celebrate our veterans of yesterday, today and tomorrow, and their important services given for our country’s freedoms.


City of San Pablo: The San Pablo Veterans Day Celebration Thursday, November 7th, 11:30am-12:30pm Church Lane Senior Center (1943 Church Lane)


City of Walnut Creek: The City of Walnut Creek invites residents and guests to one of its most cherished traditions, the Annual Ceremony.  Hosted by Mayor Loella Haskew, the free event will be held at the Lesher Center for the Arts on the corner of Civic Drive and Locust Street.  

As always, the Walnut Creek Concert Band will perform throughout the ceremony, including special recognition of each of our military branches.
