On Wednesday, the Contra Costa County Elections issued its election update which gives a clearer look at who will be elected to local office.

Voter Turnout increased to 71.81% with 519,078 ballots cast out of 722,861 registered votes.

Estimated number of unprocessed ballots:

  • Ballots voted at a voting location – 0
  • Vote-by-mail ballots received on or before Election Day – 500
  • Vote-by-mail ballots received after Election Day – 150
  • Provisional ballots – 5,000
  • Conditional Voter Registration Provisional ballots – 5,000
  • Other (In Review, Damaged) – 4,500
  • Total – 15,150
  • Next Results Expected: Wednesday, 11/15/2024, 4:00PM

  • 52.08% – Shanelle Scales-Preston (39,961)
  • 47.92% – Mike Barbanica (36,764)

Antioch Mayor

  • 62.46%: Ron Bernal (25,020)

A back and forth race, La had an 8 vote lead, now she trails by 8 votes. Today’s update, La is back in front with a  24 vote lead.

Barbanica sold out for years, then tried to distance himself from Lathorpe.

Rakesh got 3k votes, not sure if thats funny or sad.
