2,600 Without Power East County After Vehicle Strikes Pole

PG&E Outage

A vehicle that struck a power pole in Byron has knocked out power to nearly 2,600 PG&E customers Sunday night.

The crash was reported at 6:47 pm at Byron Road and Bixer road according to CHP. Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were also on scene.  Power was estimated to be restored by 9:30 pm according to PG&E.

The outage was impacting portions of the City of Brentwood, and the Town of Byron and Town of Dicovery Bay.

Check back for updates as PG&E says its still investigating the cause.
