Update: Man Dies in Tuesday Shooting in Antioch

The Antioch Police Department says a man has died after a shooting Tuesday in the City of Antioch — 15th homicide of the year.

At 12:20 p.m., the Antioch Police Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a gunshot in the 30 block of East 6th Street with a male victim down on the ground.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a man outside, suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The officers immediately administered first aid and called emergency medical personnel to respond. Once the Contra Costa Fire Protection District paramedics arrived, they took over lifesaving efforts.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Antioch Police Department’s Investigations Bureau, consisting of Crime Scene Investigators and detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit, responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Currently, detectives are interviewing witnesses and residents in the area and are working to identify any suspects or persons-of-interest. The investigation is still active, and evidence is being collected.

How come we don’t hear anything about the kidnappings? Total of 33 for the year. This concerns me. The public needs to know this.Our children’s safety matters. This really needs to be addressed. Whether it be a custody matter or not.
With human trafficking be so high, I feel the people of this town has a right to know.
Anybody else aware of this?
