The California Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle versus bicyclist fatal crash on SR-242 in Concord.
Last night, 11/24/2024, at approximately 8:49pm, a male adult driver of a white Yukon struck a bicyclist traveling within the slow lane of SR-242 southbound, north of the Olivera Road over crossing. CHP along with other emergency services responded to the scene to assist. Unfortunately, the bicyclist was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Yukon cooperated with the investigation and impairment was ruled out as a factor.

Pedestrian Found Deceased in Antioch
On Thursday, November 21, CHP reports a transient was found deceased at SR-4 at Contra Loma in the City of Antioch at 9:30 am. No other information was released.
