In November, there will be six 5k Turkey Trot races around Contra Costa County, followed by a Holiday run in December. Here is the rundown of upcoming 5k races.
Nov. 28 – Brentwood Turkey Trot: The 11th annual Brentwood Turkey Trot for Schools aims to benefit both the Brentwood Union School District and Liberty Union High School District athletic programs. This community event to promote health, athletics, and education. — more info
Nov 28 – Concord Turkey Trot: Diablo Valley Federal Credit Union (DVFCU) is pleased to welcome you to our information page about the Concord Turkey Trot, a 5K run/walk benefiting Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa. The event will take place at Newhall Park on Thanksgiving. For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, registration for this event is capped at 1,500 participants. — more info
Nov. 28 – Bishop Ranch Turkey Trot : The inaugural run will help support the Contra Costa Food Bank. The event will gather at Bishop Ranch City Center in San Ramon for a run around the lakes and gardens. These are chip-timed races on a flat course that has both pavement and packed dirt. Nov. 28: Nitro Turkey Thanksgiving Day 10k, 5k and Little Turkeys Race (San Pablo): Nitro Turkey will be supporting the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano and encourages every little turkey to bring at least one canned good on race morning. Cash donations can be made when registering and bins will be available on race day for food donations. These are the food items most in need. There will be a 5K and 10K, as well as the Little Turkeys Race: a run for the kids (roughly 100 yards) against the Nitro Turkey. Children (10 and under) attending with 5K/10K runners will receive free entry into Little Turkeys and receive special medals and a goodie bag. — direct link
Nov 28: Moraga Turkey Trot: The Moraga Turkey Trot returns on Thanksgiving morning! The Moraga Chamber of Commerce is excited to TROT OUT this family-friendly event on the cart path at the Moraga Country Club. Roll out of bed and come trot along in your activewear, your PJs, with a pram or in your most festive turkey regalia. This year’s race will offer “unofficial” timed 5K and 1.5m races with proceeds benefiting the food bank. — more info
Nov 28: Walnut Creek Turkey Trot: A Thanksgiving morning run – Thursday Nov. 28th from 8-10:30am – for the Walnut Creek Turkey Trot and celebrate our favorite Thanksgiving tradition! Before you settle in for dinner on Turkey Day, enjoy a little exercise with your community! We look forward to seeing you everyone in person again. Let’s celebrate our triumphs together this year!! Dec. 7: Bah Humbug 5k Run/Walk (San Ramon): The 2024 Bah Humbug! presented by the City of San Ramon and Chevron is a great way to start the holiday season off with a healthy fun run or walk through San Ramon. Participants will receive a holiday long-sleeved shirt and the famous Bah Humbug! Ornament. This event is great for families and children! The Bah Humbug! is a chip-timed race. — direct link
Dec. 14 – Run and Walk for Health (Antioch): This year will be the 48th running of the Kiwanis Holiday Run and Walk for Health. They have partnered with Rotary Club of the Delta to make sure we bring a high-quality event. this includes a better course and more medals. They are also working to increase participation in the schools challenge. There will be a medal to the top five runners in every age category, as well as cash prizes and trophies to our top three High school, middle school, and elementary schools.
