This year, the Nutcracker, under the creative vision of Artistic Director and Choreographer Sharon Sobel Idul, introduces exciting new variations in the Second Act to bring even more cultural relevance and diversity to Clara’s enchanting journey. “We’ve added elements to reflect the rich cultural tapestry of our community,” says Idul, who founded Black Diamond Ballet to bring classical ballet, culture, and dance education to East Contra Costa County. This 2024 production offers a fresh take on the traditional tale of Clara and her magical nutcracker, showcasing a vibrant, inclusive perspective on this holiday classic.
