Suicide

  • 11/19 – 3800 block Marsh Way: At 8:25AM, OPD received a call from the 3800 block of Marsh Way about a man who had just received a gunshot wound. Upon arrival it was determined the wound was self-inflicted and it turned out to be a fatal injury. Without going into details, this was an absolute tragedy for the family of the deceased and our thoughts and hearts go out to them. We urge anyone who is going through a crisis that seems to be heading towards thoughts of self-harm to reach out for help. Call a trusted friend, reach out to a family member you can trust, seek counseling if possible and please know there are services available to you such as the Contra Costa County Crisis Center (call 2-1-1, or text the word HOPE to 20121).
