Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Kristin B. Connelly certified the results of the November 5, 2024 General Election today.

“Our team of experts at the Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department has once again administered an accurate, transparent, safe and secure election,” Connelly said. “I am proud to work shoulder to shoulder with this dedicated and professional team, who ensure our democracy runs smoothly at every step.  These patriots, including permanent staff, temporary workers, poll workers, and volunteers work long hours with the singular goal of achieving an accurate result that reflects the true will of the people.”

The Elections Division conducted the canvass to complete the official count of all qualified ballots and to perform audits to verify the tabulation equipment performed as intended.

The purpose of the canvass accomplishes four primary tasks: ensuring that every eligible ballot is counted, that voters only voted once, that proper procedures were followed, and that the vote tabulation system counted ballots properly.

Final turnout statistics for this General Election are as follows:

  • 722,861 registered voters
  • 539,219 ballots cast (74.60% turnout)
  • 467,835 voters returned their Vote-By-Mail (VBM) Ballot (86.76% of ballots cast)
  • 71,384 voters chose to vote in-person during this election (13.24% of ballots cast)

The final official report for this election is now posted on the Contra Costa County Elections website at www.contracostavote.gov.
