On Thursday, a Bay Area Rapid Transit Director had some fun with her fellow board members by gifting them MAGA hats.
Bay Area Rapid Transit Director Debora Allen gifted her fellow BART directors a “Make America Great Again” hat on Thursday as she attended her final meeting and gave each of them a hat with a personal letter.
“I wanted to depart by giving a gift to my colleagues. So, what do you buy San Francisco Democrat politicians that seem to have everything they need? Well, it took a while, but I think I came up with something that you all might need over the next four years. You might not, but just in case, if things don’t go well in 2026 on the ballot initiative, to get taxpayers to fill those $350 million of annual deficits. I know you don’t think you’ll need this, but I bought you each one of these.”
She continued noting it was the “dark MAGA hat” and provided them with a personal letter that she did not read.
“Hopefully you will take it in just and I know not all of you are MAGA,” said Allen.
After he commentary, highlighting her time on the Board and attempts to bring fiscal responsibility, increased safety and improved ridership experience, the board did not comment on the MAGA hat gift and it went silent.
“Oh I’m sorry, I lost my train of thought, I’m sorry,” said Board President Bevan Duffy as he passed the floor to another board member.

how did she know that none of the other board members we not MAGA supporters? Was she in the voters both with them when they cast their votes? Most democraps are too scared to say they back Trump.
She knows them very well and they are extremely liberal.
What a disgusting gesture. All these MAGA cult members totally emboldened. I hope they declined and left that trash where she placed it.
No wonder BART is a train wreck. Try making BART great again, loser.
The BART Board. A monument to stupidity, just like MTA.
I guess that she didn’t make Bart great again with a 350 million dollar deficit. Now that she might have pissed people off on both sides maybe it’s a great thing she is gone. This MAGA will never ride again.
I think these comments are missing the point. It seems to me she’s trolling them with MAGA hats not because she is one, but because the board is not being realistic about their budgets at BART and they will shortly need to go hat in hand to the president elect. Post Covid they don’t have the ridership to maintain staffing and train schedules as they currently stand.
