A popular hangout in Oakley is expanding into the City of Antioch announced Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Restaurant Bar and Grill, or as some call it, WTF!
The restaurant said it would be opening in late February/early March 2025 at 2737 Hillcrest Avenue (formerly occupied by Applebees which closed in February 2024).
Owners Janet and Brian Howard chose Antioch because of its rich history and also the promise of a bright future with the incoming city council. They believe that there is a strong commitment to revitalizing the community and supporting local businesses, which have been a great factor in making this decision to expand.
“We believe that the new city leaders share our same vision to support the community by providing jobs and support to family-owned small businesses like us.” said Janet and Brian.
They added that the Hillcrest shopping center is a busy area that will bring natural traffic to the restaurant to help it grow. There are a variety of other retail shops and eateries at the center to fill the needs of customers also.
The restaurant is known for its strong support of first responders, military and veterans while also supporting the local community through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events.
The Oakley location opened in July of 2022 and offers a variety of burgers and sandwiches, freshly made soups and salads, along with plenty of appetizers, including its fried Brussels sprouts and soups. For more filling food choices, they offer a variety of entrees from pasta and meatballs to a First Responder NY Steak. You also can’t go wrong with their seafood options like the Captain’s Platter or Surf and Turf. In addition to lunch and dinner choices, WTF Restaurant offers plenty of breakfast options offering something for everyone from a traditional breakfast, to omelettes or something from the griddle such as French toast, pancakes or waffles. They have a full bar that offers drinks crafted by their talented bartenders, truly a collection of unique cocktail recipes that you won’t find anywhere else! From bold flavors to refreshing twists on classic favorites, each drink is designed to elevate your experience and delight your taste buds.

Great news!
I’m happy to hear that they have hope in Antioch improving, and hopefully other businesses follow suit in the coming months and years. I do believe eventually, the community will be able to rebuild some of what’s been lost these last several years, and it will be a great boost in that direction if more business owners take the leap of faith.
