Martinez, CA – The City of Martinez is pleased to announce the City Council’s approval of a new management agreement with F3 Marina, a globally recognized marina management firm, to oversee operations at the Martinez Marina starting January 1, 2025. This decision marks a significant step in the City’s efforts to enhance Marina offerings and elevate Martinez’s position as a regional destination for recreation and waterfront activities.
The Martinez Marina, which features boat slips and launch, a fishing pier, and other amenities, is a vital asset to the community and a hub for boating, fishing, and tourism. Located adjacent to the scenic 70-acre Martinez Waterfront, the Marina holds immense potential for future growth and revitalization.
The new partnership with F3 Marina follows a thorough review process and reflects the City’s commitment to improving Marina operations, addressing infrastructure needs, and positioning the Marina as a premier destination. F3 Marina brings extensive experience, managing 26 marinas worldwide, including marinas in the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Greece, and throughout the United States. Locally, F3 Marina also manages marinas in Vallejo and South San Francisco. The company’s proven expertise in waterfront development, customer service, and strategic marketing aligns with the City’s vision for the Marina’s future.
“We are excited to partner with F3 Marina to bring professional management and innovative ideas to the Martinez Marina,” said Mayor Brianne Zorn. “This partnership represents a new chapter for our waterfront, which has tremendous opportunities for growth, development, and community enjoyment.”
This partnership comes as the City undertakes several waterfront improvement projects, including repairing the Martinez Fishing Pier (currently under construction), exploring new waterfront businesses, and planning long-term revitalization efforts in line with the recently adopted Waterfront Marina Trust Land Use Plan.
The City anticipates F3 Marina’s specialized expertise will not only enhance day-to-day operations but also position the Marina for long-term success.
“F3 Marina’s track record and innovative approach will allow the City to refocus its resources on strategic waterfront improvements while providing a high-quality experience for boaters and visitors,” explained Jill Bergman, Community and Economic Development Director.
The City looks forward to collaborating with F3 Marina to focusing on efforts to make the Martinez Marina a thriving and vibrant waterfront destination for residents and visitors alike.
