The Concord Police Department is investigating a shooting that has left one person deceased Tuesday night in the City of Concord.
According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred at 9:00 pm in the area of Sierra Road near Oak Grove Road with one person down in the roadway, possibly with a bicycle. The person was suffering from a gunshot wound.
A short time later, police said they located 5-6 casings and that the roadway was shut down. They were also searching for a suspect.
Concord Police have not yet released any information on the incident.

On 12/10/24 at approximately 9:01 PM, the Concord Police Department Dispatch Center received several calls regarding multiple gunshots heard and a person on the ground in the area of Oak Grove Rd. and Pear Dr. Officers quickly arrived and found a 53-year-old male victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating the case.
At this time, there are no immediate public safety concerns. No further information is being released at this time.
