Oakley to Launch Neighborhood Committee

The City of Oakley is looking for applicants for the new Oakley Neighborhood Committee, an advisory committee that will provide feedback to the City Manager on what is important to the community.

The Committee will hear presentations from the City’s Leadership Team and guest speakers from local non-profits, community groups, other agencies and special districts.

The Committee will consist of 10 representatives:

  • 1 adult resident from each of the 5 city Council districts
  • 1 representative from an Oakley faith-based organization
  • 1 student aged 16 or older either attending an Oakley school or living in Oakley and attending college/university or a vocational school
  • 1 Oakley resident aged 55 or older
  • 1 local business owner
  • 1 teacher employed by a school in Oakley

The Committee will meet once per month at 4 pm on a day to be determined by the majority of the Committee.

Neighborhood Committee

According to the City, it is anticipated that potential representatives will be invited to participate in a short in-person or virtual interview with the Oakley City Manager at the end of January 2025. The City Manager will then appoint 10 applicants to the Neighborhood Committee to begin meeting in February 2025.
