Bishop Ranch Forms Dedicated Medical Campus to Make Way for Future Residential

San Ramon, Calif. – As part of the ongoing evolution of transforming Bishop Ranch into a $5 billion mixed-use, walkable neighborhood over the next decade, family-owned Sunset Development Company is making major strides by consolidating medical office use into a single central medical campus in the Shepherd’s Glen neighborhood to create space for future residential development.

The newly renovated Bishop Ranch Medical Campus, located at 12677 Alcosta Boulevard, spans approximately 203,000 square feet and is currently close to 70% leased, with 20 medical and wellness tenants relocating from other buildings in Spring 2025. The campus’ anchor tenant, John Muir Health, is more than doubling its previous facility with a brand-new 52,000-square-foot space. Similarly, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals will expand its current offering by opening a 9,000-square-foot pediatric specialty clinic specializing in endocrinology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, neurology, general surgery, cardiology, speech pathology and sports medicine.

Of the 20 medical practices, three are new to Bishop Ranch. UCSF Health Medical Foundation has leased 3,412 square feet; Tri-Valley Pediatrics has leased 2,892 square feet and Bass Medical Group has leased 4,283 square feet.

Sunset Development Company recently completed a full renovation of the Bishop Ranch Medical Campus, now a destination for medical business owners seeking to establish their practice in a state-of-the-art facility. The building features top-tier services ranging from dental and pediatric care to optometry, laboratory and urgent care. The facility serves the local community with over 30 expert practitioners in one convenient location. Located near the San Ramon Regional Medical Center, this campus promotes seamless collaboration among medical professionals while ensuring easy access for employees and the broader community.

Most of the medical tenants are relocating from nearby office buildings that will eventually be demolished to make way for an 11-acre residential community. This community will be part of the 8,000 homes that Sunset Development Company plans to build at Bishop Ranch over the next decade.
