WALNUT CREEK, CA — The recent executive order regarding pauses in certain federal payments understandably raised concerns for organizations like Meals on Wheels Diablo Region. However, as of January 29, 2025, the Office of Management and Budget has rescinded that order, and we do not anticipate any impact on our organization.
This situation highlights the critical role individual donors play in supporting our mission. As we have seen during past budget challenges, and most recently during the COVID-19 pandemic, our donors and the broader community have stepped up with incredible generosity. This support allows us to plan for the future with confidence and ensure that Meals on Wheels Diablo Region will continue operating without any interruptions.
Our Board, staff, donors, and volunteers remain steadfast in their commitment to ensuring that seniors will remain nourished, engaged, safe, and independent, with the dignity they deserve in their later years.
