BRENTWOOD, CA – The City of Brentwood is thrilled to welcome Barnes & Noble to The Streets of Brentwood with its highly anticipated grand opening on January 29, 2025, at 2475 Sand Creek Road. The new 20,000-square-foot bookstore, one of the largest recent Barnes & Noble openings, occupies the space formerly home to REI, which had been vacant for nearly 15 years.
Families and book lovers lined up around the building to be among the first to explore the new store, which features an extensive book selection and a brand-new B&N Café. The grand opening celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, author signings with Evelyn Skye and Amanda Briar, a flower bar by The Golden Tulip Co., and a special meet-and-greet with Arthur the Aardvark.
“The opening of Barnes & Noble marks a new chapter for Brentwood, not just by revitalizing a long-vacant space, but by fostering a love of reading,” said Assistant City Manager Darin Gale. “We are excited to see this bookstore become a cherished destination for families, students, and book enthusiasts alike.”
Barnes & Noble Brentwood invites the community to explore its shelves, enjoy a cup of coffee, and take part in upcoming events, including author readings, book clubs, and children’s story time.
