On Saturday, the Concord Police Department issued a statement after learning of an ICE enforcement activity took place in the City of Concord.
Here is the statement:
The Concord Police Department became aware of federal immigration enforcement activity that occurred in Concord today. We did not assist in this activity in any way and have no details on this federal operation.
The City of Concord Police Department is dedicated to serving and protecting all members of our community, regardless of immigration status. In compliance with California state law and the department’s existing policy, we do not enforce federal civil immigration laws, detain individuals based solely on immigration status, or conduct immigration raids. The focus is on public safety, building trust, and ensuring that everyone feels safe reporting crimes and seeking our assistance when needed. The department has an existing policy, compliant with existing California state law (SB 54), related to immigration violations, which is posted and available to the public. The policy (Policy 414 – Immigration Violations) is located here on the website.

Mt Diablo Unified School District
On January 24, Mt. Diablo Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Adam Clark sent a message to District staff, parents/guardians and students highlighting that safety and well-being of our students remain their top priority. He added every child deserves to learn in an environment free from harm, harassment, and fear, where they can focus on their academic, social, and emotional growth. Our District is deeply committed to ensuring that all students are protected, respected, and supported—regardless of their background, race, religion, immigration status, gender, or socioeconomic status.
The letter also included Board Policy: “Unless authorized by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act pursuant to 20 USC 1232g, student information shall not be disclosed to immigration law enforcement authorities without parental consent, a court order, or judicial subpoena.”
