On Monday, Downtown Martinez & Co announced the departure of executive Director Kara Klotchman who had been with the organization the past six years.

It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that the Board of Directors of Downtown Martinez & Co. announces the departure of our Executive Director, Kara Klotchman.
For the past six years, Kara has been a driving force behind the success and growth of our organization, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the economic vitality of Downtown Martinez. Her leadership was especially instrumental in guiding our community through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that our downtown businesses remained resilient and that our organization continued to thrive.
Kara’s passion, vision, and commitment have left a lasting impact on Downtown Martinez. From fostering strong partnerships to championing initiatives that have enhanced the vibrancy of our community, she has played an invaluable role in shaping the future of our downtown. While we are saddened to see her go, we celebrate all that she has accomplished and look forward to seeing the great things she will achieve in her next chapter.
The Board of Directors will soon begin the process of interviewing potential candidates and aims to fill this role as soon as possible. In the interim, we want to assure our members and stakeholders that Sarah Baird will continue in her role as Event & Communication Coordinator, ensuring that all events and communications run smoothly. Additionally, the Board of Directors remains fully committed to supporting our members and is available to assist with any needs during this transition.
