The Martinez Police Department says an intruder was killed by a resident Saturday morning in the City of Martinez.
According to police, on March 15, 2025, at approximately 4:46 a.m., officers responded to Hale Court in Martinez on a report of someone heard yelling, “Intruder.”
Upon arrival, officers contacted a resident who reported that a male adult known to him entered the resident’s home without permission and attacked him. During the incident,
the reported intruder sustained significant injuries. He was transported by ambulance to a local trauma hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him deceased.
The Martinez Police Investigations Bureau responded to the scene.
The resident is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. This investigation is in the early stages and its understanding of what happened may change as individuals are interviewed and evidence is collected and analyzed.
The names of the parties involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
