Kwame Reed Named New Deputy Clerk-Recorder

Martinez, CAThe Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department is pleased to announce Kwame P. Reed as the new Deputy Clerk Recorder. Mr. Reed, originally from Contra Costa, comes to our office with nearly thirty years of progressively responsible public sector experience. He brings vast experience in both project and budget management, as well as records and compliance oversight. Reed joins the office from the City of Antioch where he has worked since 2018. He completes his tenure today as Assistant City Manager and Economic Development Director.

Before working for the City of Antioch, Reed worked for the City of Brentwood as their Sr. Analyst assigned to Economic Development and the City Manager’s Office. In his new role, Reed will report directly to the elected Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Kristin B. Connelly. Reed’s passion for public service and wealth of knowledge will be a great addition to the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department. He was born and raised in Richmond and brings a Contra Costa-centric focus to the team. “We are thrilled to be bringing Kwame Reed onto our team as Deputy Clerk-Recorder,” said Kristin B. Connelly, County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters. “He is very enthusiastic about the important work of our department and cares deeply about high-quality public service.”

Kwame’s first day at the Department will be April 7, 2025.
