FATAL COLLISION AT MAIN STREET AND RAMOS RANCH ROAD

Oakley, CA – On March 27, 2025 at 9:55AM a vehicle was travelling northbound on Main Street and collided into a single female pedestrian at the intersection of Main Street and Ramos Ranch Road. The pedestrian died at the scene due to the collision. The collision occurred mere feet from the home of the decedent and the family was home when the collision occurred.

The Oakley Police Department responded with patrol officers, traffic officers and detectives. Main Street had to be completely shut down for approximately three hours while the scene investigation took place.

The driver (male, 77) of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital and the driver is cooperating with our officers. It was learned the driver initially drove home, but voluntarily returned to the scene. The driver’s vehicle is in police custody.  A component of the initial investigation suggested a medical impairment could have been a factor in the collision. Additional and intensive investigation still needs to occur before any final determinations can be made. An element of this investigation will be determining if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Oakley Chief Paul Beard said “The members of the Oakley Police Department are especially aware of the sensitivities of this tragic incident. The Department extends its sincerest condolences to the family.”
