On Saturday, April 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Marina Community Center in Pittsburg, First 5 Contra Costa will host an interactive resource fair that will guide participants through the ‘womb to classroom’ journey with resource connections. East County Black and African American families will be able to interact and engage with providers and community partners with valuable resources, services, and programs available for each stage of development from pregnancy to Kindergarten.
Event features:
- Over 20 community partners offering support at every step, including prenatal and postnatal care, early literacy resources, early intervention services, child care education, and essential resources for your family’s success
- Opportunity to be a part of a community mural. Add your handprints to this one-of-a-kind artwork and contribute to a meaningful, collaborative mural that celebrates our shared connection deeply rooted in community.
- Fun activities for young children, including a little gym play area, balloon animals, and more family fun
- “I Am My Ancestors Wildest Dreams” t-shirts (while supplies last)
- Food provided by DiDi CoCo’s Southern Comfort (while supplies last)
- Hourly gift card raffles for a chance to win: $25 Jamba Juice gift card (11:30am), $75 DoorDash gift card (12:30pm), and $100 Grocery Outlet gift card (1:30pm)

The first 200 Families in attendance will also receive:
- A custom event canvas tote showcasing art from a Kya Cook, a Black artist from East County. The tote features a beautifully created painting titled “Lift Every Child” and is filled with family-friendly swag from First 5 Contra Costa.
