Antioch and San Ramon Walmarts Among First to Celebrate Grand Re-Openings

EAST BAY, Calif. – As part of its continued commitment to serve local communities, Walmart has announced it will remodel 122 stores in California this year – more than a third of all Walmart stores in the state. Among the first to unveil these major upgrades are two East Bay locations: the Walmart Supercenter in Antioch and the San Ramon Walmart Neighborhood Market, both of which celebrated grand re-openings this week.

The Antioch and San Ramon stores received extensive upgrades aimed at delivering a more seamless, customer first experience. These remodels reflect Walmart’s efforts to modernize its East Bay footprint while continuing to meet the evolving needs of local shoppers.

Across both stores, enhancements include refreshed interiors and exteriors, brighter lighting, improved signage and landscaping, and reconfigured layouts for easier navigation. Additionally, the online grocery pickup and delivery service has been expanded making shopping more efficient whether in-store or on the go.

In Antioch, the Walmart Supercenter at 4893 Lone Tree Way now features a dedicated customer pickup building, expanded departments like pet and apparel, and updated layouts to the Pharmacy and Vision Center. A standout addition is a new community mural titled “Colors of the Delta,” created by California artist Tony Diaz. Commissioned as part of Walmart’s national Community Mural Program, the artwork celebrates Antioch’s natural beauty, outdoor lifestyle, and cultural landmarks.

In San Ramon, the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 9100 Alcosta Blvd. has a fresh new look across the store plus an enhanced full-service deli and hot food bar. The Pharmacy has also been upgraded with a private consultation room and now offers prescription delivery.

“Through the store upgrades and new services, our mission is to serve our customers how, when and where they want to shop,” said Leo Coral, San Ramon store manager. “We’re thrilled to unveil to our customers a variety of new features and improvements at our store and are thankful to our dedicated associates and store leadership teams who made it happen.”
