Vegetation Fire Damages 20 Vehicles, Burns 2 Acres in Antioch

The Contra Costa Fire Protection District says an early morning fire burned 2 acres and involved 20 vehicles in the City of Antioch.

According to the fire district, on April 16 around 2:22 am, they received multiple calls of active smoke and flames coming from between Highway 4 and Oakley Road in the City of Antioch. Engine 81 arrived on scene and confirmed a vegetation fire near the storage facility. The fire extended to multiple vehicles.

The fire burned 2-acres and involved 20 vehicles from the storage facility.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District has established Minimum Weed Abatement Standards for all parcels located within Fire District’s jurisdiction.  — Minimum Standards bulletin

Weed Abatement Extension Request

Extension request may only be requested when a parcel has been inspected by a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Fire Inspector and the parcel failed to meet the Fire District’s Minimum Weed Abatement Standards at the final inspection.

All Extension Requests shall be reviewed and may or may not be approved.
