BALTIC KISS UPDATE

Thank you to all who supported us—employees, customers, friends, and family. We can’t tell you how much you all mean to us. With a heavy heart, we are done. With the help of many, we tried all kinds of different approaches to make the Baltic Kiss successful. There were good and bad ideas—we tried it all. We never gave up till the day we did. Never for one second did we want it to end this way. We slowly got behind on everything. We could not afford to close; we could not afford to open. It was a living nightmare. It became obvious we needed to close, but we had so many commitments—the main one being paying our employees. So we pressed on, exhausting every possible avenue to make amends. We have never in our lives tried harder at anything. We worked seven days a week. With the way things were, we were day to day financially. The GoFundMe kept us going two more months as we looked for a loan or investor. We never got. I wish everyone could walk one day in this and see the reality. We are going to liquidate the restaurant’s assets and pay back as much as we can immediately after the move-out process. This is the hardest place we have ever been. We apologize to everyone that has been affected by our financial problems. It should have never gotten this far, and we are so sorry.

Sincerely, Chef Tony and Suzie 4/19/25

GoFundMe launched in January

Back in January, a GoFundMe was launched to raise $100k, however, just $11,661 raised:

Dear Concertgoers, Friends, and Family of Baltic Kiss,
Chef Tony and Miss Suzie would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for an incredible 2 1/2 years. Your support has meant the world to us, but we’ve reached a point of hardship that makes it impossible to keep our doors open without help. Still struggling with start up debt ,Rising costs of food, liquor, our lease, and insurance have made it impossible to keep up.
If you’ve ever been to Baltic Kiss, you know what makes this space special: an incredible sound system, vibrant lighting that brings our stage to life, and a welcoming atmosphere for meeting friends, enjoying amazing bands, and indulging in great food.
Now, we’re reaching out to our community for support. We need to raise **$100,000** to keep our doors open and continue hosting the shows and events that make Richmond’s music and arts scene so vibrant.
Although we initially planned to close at the end of January, things have changed. The overwhelming love and support from all of you has given us hope—and we’ve decided to give it one more push. With some planned renovations to make our dining room and bar more functional, we’re ready to fight for the future of Baltic Kiss and the future of live music!
This decision to ask for help hasn’t been easy, but it’s our last hope. The funds will help us:
– Cover outstanding startup costs.
– Get back on our feet financially.
– Move forward and build a sustainable future for Baltic Kiss.
We have so many exciting plans for the year ahead, and with your help, we can continue being a hub for local musicians, comedians, and artists. Please consider contributing to our **GoFundMe** to keep Baltic Kiss alive and thriving as a vital part of Richmond’s community.
If you’re interested in investing in Baltic Kiss, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us directly to discuss potential business and opportunities of how we can build a strong future together.
Thank you for your love, support, and belief in us. Let’s make this happen !
With gratitude,
Chef Tony, Miss Suzie, and the Baltic Kiss Team
