Brentwood Police Bust Teen Dirt Bike Rider Causing Damages

The Brentwood Police Department announced a teen dirt bike rider has been cited and had their bike towed after causing damage to a park within the City of Brentwood.

According to police, they confirmed the rider was a teen, but did not provide any other details on the suspect.

Police said that last Friday, Brentwood officers responded to a report of a dirt bike rider damaging the grass at a park near Edna Hill Middle School, located in the 200 block of Lawrence Lane. This was not an isolated incident—officers have received multiple similar complaints in the area, including a report earlier that same day of several dirt bike riders fleeing from police.

When officers contacted the rider, they learned that the individual did not have a valid driver’s license and was operating an unregistered dirt bike. The rider also admitted to knowing that riding dirt bikes on public roads is illegal. The rider was cited, and the dirt bike was towed.

Police said this serves as a reminder that dirt bikes are not street-legal unless they are specifically manufactured or modified to meet on-road requirements. Riding off-highway vehicles on public roadways, sidewalks, parks, or highways is strictly prohibited under California Vehicle Code §38025.
