On Thursday, Calicraft Brewing Co. is officially expanding with a ribbon cutting in the Shadelands Business District of Walnut Creek.
The Outdoor Beer Garden opened April 22nd and a ribbon cutting is scheduled for May 8th. With a Grand Reopening weekend celebration May 9-11.
Within 2025, the company is expanding by adding 3 new taprooms, as well as a distillery bringing the entire operation to four locations within the San Francisco Bay Area. This will be done in two phases.
The first project is the first phase of a massive renovation on Calicraft’s original location in the Shadelands Business district of Walnut Creek. Phase 1 moves Calicraft’s current taproom to an outdoor 6,500 square foot beer garden complete with a 40 foot shipping container bar, fire pits, picnic areas, and outdoor televisions. The vibe will be much the same as Calicraft’s current taproom: family and pet friendly, community centric, and open to all.

We have arrived at the final weekend of the OG Calicraft Taproom in Walnut Creek! As we get closer to opening our brand new Container Bar Beer Garden, we wanted to take a moment to honor our original Taproom. The space has meant so much to us and we will never forget all the amazing memories with the community. Since 2016 the Walnut Creek community has been so welcoming – without all of you, this space would just be a collection of tables in a parking lot. But when it’s a hot Summer Saturday and we look out and see hundreds of you all in the Beer Garden, all of the hard work is worth it. We can’t thank you all enough for coming out and supporting us as much as you have, and we can’t wait to create more memories in our new Beer Garden! And luckily, you won’t have to go far to find the new Calicraft Beer Garden – it is literally on the other side of our current parking lot!
That being said, we are planning on opening our new Container Bar early next week. We will definitely be closed on Monday to move as much as we can from our current space to our new space, with a potential opening of the new space on Tuesday the 22nd. Stay tuned for an official announcement for when the Container Bar will be open!
Under Phase 2, slated to be completed 2026, renovates Calicraft’s existing outdoor beer garden and taproom into a brand new 10,000-SF, two-story building featuring a newly designed and constructed brewery, winery, distillery, and restaurant — all under the Calicraft brand.
Calicraft was founded in 2012 by Blaine Landberg. The facility is located at 27000 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek, CA.
