Contra Costa Water District’s annual Water Awareness Youth Art Contest is back—and the public is invited to help choose this year’s winners.

Starting Tuesday, May 27, community members can view and vote on nearly 180 creative entries submitted by students ages 8 to 18. Entrants live or attend school throughout CCWD’s service area, which covers most of central and eastern Contra Costa County. Each drawing showcases how people use water at home or in the community and encourages the efficient use of our most essential resource—tap water.

Now in its seventh year, the contest aims to raise awareness about the importance of reliable water service and the role CCWD plays in providing safe, high-quality drinking water to residents and businesses. Many of the featured drawings highlight everyday water uses and help remind us that water delivered by CCWD is essential to our daily lives.

Public voting will remain open through Wednesday, June 11. Votes will be considered alongside CCWD staff selections to determine at least 12 winning entries, which will be featured in CCWD’s 2026 wall calendar. Winners will be announced at the end of June and recognized at a CCWD Board meeting this fall.

Each winning artist will receive a $75 gift card, a framed copy of their artwork with a certificate of appreciation, and early copies of the printed calendar.

To view the finalists and cast your vote, visit ccwater.com/calendarcontest beginning May 27.
