by CC News
Antioch

On Wednesday, the Antioch Unified School District is set to hire its next superintendent, the only problem, it will all take place in less than a few hours notice to the public.

According to the agenda, there will be a closed session labor negotiations with the new superintendent at 6:00 pm. Upon coming out of closed session, an announcement will be made and naming a hire. At that point, a contract will be released. By 7:00 pm, the Antioch School Board Meeting will begin and by Item 7, the board will look at voting on the approval of Superintendent Employment Agreement (The Superintendent contract is proposed for approval, and will be made publicly available, including the name of the candidate, upon completion of the contract terms.)

The public will have no opportunity and little notice to vet the superintendent, learn his/her background or comment on the selection or process–including the terms of the contract (salary/years/benefits, etc).

If approved, this will be the 4th superintendent of the District in less than 1-year.
