Livermore: 3 Juveniles Arrested in Connection With 49 Auto Burglaries

The Livermore Police Department announced the arrest of three juveniles who they say are connected to 49 auto burglaries.

From May 5 to June 3, the Livermore Police Department investigated a series of auto burglaries that occurred in the downtown area and surrounding streets. All of the burglaries took place during the overnight hours and involved smashed windows, primarily on the front passenger side, to steal miscellaneous items such as USB drives, battery packs, sunglasses, and wallets.

Through investigative leads and surveillance footage, Livermore Police identified several juvenile suspects responsible for the crimes. Search warrants were executed at their homes, where officers recovered some of the stolen property.

On June 10, three juveniles were arrested in connection with 49 of the auto burglaries:

12-year-old male from Livermore
14-year-old female from Livermore
15-year-old male from Livermore

All three were cited and released to their parents. Juvenile Hall would not accept the suspects due to the non-violent nature of the offenses.

Livermore Police is continuing to investigate whether the group is responsible for additional auto burglaries and vehicle thefts in Livermore prior to May 5.

“I want to thank our patrol officers, detectives, and School Resource Officers for their teamwork in identifying those responsible,” said Livermore Police Chief Jeramy Young.

The case has been referred to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office Juvenile Probation Department for review and charges.
