After years of waiting, Sprouts in the City of Pittsburg is set to hold its grand opening on June 27.
A ribbon cutting will occur at 6:45 am with the grand opening shortly after at 7:00 pm. Sprouts is located at 2201 W Leland Rd, Pittsburg Ca.
According to the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce, there will be a 20% off all weekend long while the first 200 customers on Friday and Saturday will receive a free reusable tote filled with freebies. There will also be pop-up party with tastings and games. You could also win a $500 gift card.

In August 2023, Wolfgang Croskey, Chamber CEO, had advocated for a grocery store with members of the community since mid-2019.
“A few years ago Pittsburg was designated a food desert and its been a long process to get a grocery store to our town,” explained Wolfgang Croskey. “Sierra Pacific went above and beyond. We had events at other locations to attract other grocery stores, we brought in a band and cheerleaders. We have done everything with the city to recruit grocery stores from Southern California trying to reach everyone. Sprouts is the one who chose Pittsburg.”
Then Mayor, now County Board of Supervisor, Shanelle Scales-Preston thanked city staff for their efforts during the ground breaking ceremony.
“With their efforts, creative thinking and willingness to prioritize bringing this to our community, it was so greatly desired,” said Scales-Preston. “We heard from the residents and they told us loud and clear for several years we need a grocery store and amenities here.”
