The Antioch Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that left one person deceased Monday morning.
According to preliminary information, Antioch Police officers responded to some sort of disturbance on Osprey Drive off Cambridge Drive just before 7:40 am Monday. It was later determined the person was threatening family members – Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters and AMR were requested to stage. A short time later, a person was shot by Antioch Police Officers and was determined to be deceased on scene.
At 8:20 am Monday, Antioch Police Department issued the following stay away order:
Police Activity – Please Avoid the Area: Please avoid the area of Osprey Drive due to ongoing police activity. At this time, we do not believe there is a threat to public safety, but we ask for your cooperation to help ensure the safety of all involved.We will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding.
As of 9:15 am, no updates have been provided by the Antioch Police Department and the area has been cautioned off — while they also have extended the perimeter of the incident. The incident is currently under investigation with the area expected to be restricted to residents who live in the area for the next several hours. It is not known if the person was armed at the time of the incident or making threats to harm police or others at the time of the shooting.

Right now, Antioch police officers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened on the 3800 block of Osprey Drive.
On June 30th at 7:15 am officers responded to a 911 call in which a man was threatening to kill everyone in the home. When the officers arrived, the man was armed and rushed officers with a knife. An officer-involved shooting occurred. Officers immediately provided aid to the man. Unfortunately, he died at the scene.
Right now, Antioch PD investigators are on scene. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office will conduct their own bilateral investigation as standard protocol.
