The Court is pleased to announce that its Executive Committee has selected Sarah Lind as the next Court Executive Officer, Clerk of the Court, and Jury Commissioner.

Ms. Lind brings almost 20 years of court administration experience to the position, most recently as Deputy Court Executive Officer of the San Mateo Superior Court. In that role, she supervised the court’s operations, self-help, and support divisions, and directed the strategic planning for allocation of the court’s entire $62 million budget. Prior to that, she was a Director of Court Services for the Santa Clara Superior Court, and a Court Services Manager for the San Mateo Superior Court. During her distinguished career, she has managed virtually all facets of court operations, including court clerks, court reporters, court interpreters, and jury services.

“Along with the entire Executive Committee, I am pleased to welcome Sarah Lind as our new Court Executive Officer,” said Presiding Judge Christopher R. Bowen. “Sarah brings a broad experience in court administration, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a history of developing collaborative relationships with court staff and justice partners, all of which make her ideally suited to lead the Court in its service to the public.”

“I am deeply honored to be appointed as Court Executive Officer for the Contra Costa Superior Court,” said Ms. Lind. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and to support the important work of the judiciary. I look forward to working collaboratively with judges, staff, justice partners, and the public to ensure our court continues to deliver fair, accessible, and efficient justice for all.”

As Court Executive Officer, Ms. Lind will manage the day-to-day operations of the Court under the direction of Presiding Judge Bowen. Ms. Lind assumes her new role effective today, July 7, 2025, upon administration of her oath. She succeeds Kate Bieker, who was appointed as Court Executive Officer of the Ventura Superior Court.
