The City of San Pablo announced that a work stoppage by local drivers has created a temporary impact for recycling and waste services.

Here is a notice issued to the community:

We want to share an important recycling and waste collection service alert with our community:

Republic Services, San Pablo’s recycling and waste collection provider, is currently experiencing a work stoppage by local drivers. IBT 439 members that are employed at Forward Landfill in Stockton, California, are engaged in a temporary work stoppage and are picketing at other Republic Services Bay Area locations. Local Republic Services drivers are acting in solidarity with IBT 439 by also participating in a work stoppage.

As a result, a temporary service delay is anticipated for both commercial and residential recycling and waste collection customers in our city. Customers may experience a modified recycling and waste collection service schedule. Republic Services is working to implement adjustments to their operations to continue providing services during this time.

For questions regarding recycling and waste services please call Republic Services: 510-262-7100.
