WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – With one month left to go in the summer driving season, drivers are enjoying favorable gas prices at the pump. The national average for a gallon of regular dropped two cents from last week to $3.14. July comes to an end with a monthly average of $3.15, mirroring prices seen in July 2021– the last time summer gas prices were this low. “Although crude oil prices and gas demand have seen a slight uptick,” says Doug Johnson, spokesperson for AAA MWG, “the increase has not been enough to push prices higher.” California drivers will find an average price of $4.48 a gallon, the same price as last week.
