Antioch Man Arrested in Oakley Shooting

The Oakley Police Department announced the arrest of an Antioch man in connection with a August 1 shooting that left one person wounded.

Police identified Derrick Page, 35 of Antioch, as the suspect while adding they were able to determine the shooting was the culmination of an ongoing argument between the suspect and the victim that was occurring via social media platforms.

Here is the release from the City of Oakley:

Oakley, CA – Over the weekend, the officers and the detectives of the Oakley Police Department remained active investigating the shooting that occurred on August 1, 2025, on Macadamia Lane.

Several clues and pieces of information were developed over the weekend. Due to this diligence, we were able to identify Derrick Page (35, Antioch) as the suspect.

We have also been able to determine the shooting was the culmination of an ongoing argument between the suspect and the victim that was occurring via social media platforms.

On August 1, 2025, the victim arrived at Page’s girlfriend’s house. Page pointed a rifle towards the victim and the victim got back into his vehicle to drive away. Page fired several times at the victim when he was fleeing, striking him at least once.

The victim was able to get into his vehicle and escape to the AM/PM gas station at Main Street and East Cypress Road where Oakley Police Officers found him and treated him for his gunshot wound. Page also fled the scene right after the shooting occurred.

Oakley Police Detectives, with assistance from the United States Marshals Service, located Page in the 2800 block of Gentrytown Drive on August 4, 2025, and took him into custody with no resistance. Page was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, and we are seeking attempted homicide and shooting into an inhabited dwelling charges against him.

The firearm used in this assault has not yet been located. If anybody has anything to report regarding this shooting please call 925-625-8060 or email Detective Dombrouski at dombrouski@ci.oakley.ca.us.

Chief Beard said “Oakley has had a reprieve from gun violence since December of 2023. This incident perforated that streak in a very violent fashion and in such a way that we could have had more unintended victims. Any bloodshed is too much, but I am grateful nobody else was significantly injured in this incident. The detectives and officers who were assigned to this case took it seriously just as I have come to expect from the Oakley Police Department; I appreciate all of the persistence and attentiveness. I further appreciate the partnerships we have formed with our allied partners, such as the United States Marshals Service. These partnerships allow us to do more with more and I thank the United States Marshals Service for helping us out. The safety of the community of Oakley is, and will always be, the primary responsibility of the Oakley Police Department and when that safety is threatened the Oakley Police Department will do what is necessary to restore peace and order and seek justice against those who threaten it.”
