WALNUT CREEK — An afternoon of live performances, fine food, and camaraderie will be topped off by a chance to learn how to keep local arts thriving for years to come on Monday, September 15. The Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA), the nonprofit partner of the Lesher Center for the Arts, will host a session to help attendees discover how their IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) can extend and enhance the arts.

Headlined by financial expert and DRAA Board Member Eric Rudney, the program will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. “There’s real joy in discovering fresh, creative ways to give,” says DRAA Executive Director Peggy White. “Together, we can keep the arts alive while raising a glass to the magic they bring into our lives.”

Slated as an engaging, educational, and entertaining afternoon, the session will include performances by Bay Area performer Molly Bell, best known for her starring roles in Lesher Center’s CenterREP productions like Sweet CharityAnything Goes, Becoming Brittany, and her own creation, The Real Housewives of Walnut Creek. Molly’s work is widely celebrated.

“Molly Bell is outright fabulous in Becoming Brittany. She can sing, she can dance, she can act. Best of all she can walk the fine line between self-mockery and innocent affectation with the best of them,” reports the East Bay Times.

To make your reservation or to learn more about this free afternoon of fun, food, arts, and finances, please contact Sandie Arnold, DRAA Director of Philanthropy, at [email protected] or (925) 295-1470.
