PITTSBURG, California – Supervisor Shanelle Scales-Preston is proud to announce the 2025 Youth Summit, a day-long event dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering the next generation of leaders across Contra Costa County. The summit will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Los Medanos College, 2700 E. Leland Rd., Pittsburg, CA.
Continuing the legacy of late Supervisor Federal Glover—who launched the original Youth Summit to uplift and motivate local youth—this year’s event brings fresh energy and new opportunities for students in grades 6–12 to explore career pathways, develop leadership skills, and connect with resources for academic, personal, and professional growth.
The 2025 Youth Summit will feature:
- Keynote Speakers: Dr. Julia Garcia, Nicki Joiner, and EJ Carrion will deliver motivational talks on emotional wellness, leadership, and preparing for the future.
- Interactive Workshops: Covering topics such as self-discovery, digital wellness, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, advocacy, and career readiness.
- Career & College Resources: Information on apprenticeships, training programs, and higher education opportunities to help students plan their futures.
- Entertainment & Activities: A live DJ, cultural performances, and outdoor activities to keep the energy high throughout the day.
- Community Connections: Opportunities to meet with local organizations offering health, wellness, and youth development resources.
The 2025 Youth Summit promises to be more than just a day of learning—it’s a launchpad for future success, helping youth build confidence, explore new ideas, and prepare for what’s ahead.
