Pinstripes Closes Walnut Creek Location Less Than Year After Opening

Pinstripes has officially closed its Broadway Plaza location in Walnut Creek after opening last November.

According to a spoksperson for the company, they confirmed the closure, but noted its nearby San Mateo location will remain open, along with others.  The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Below is a statement from the company:

With the support of our senior secured lenders, Pinstripes Holdings, Inc. and certain affiliates (the “Company”) filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions, pursuant to which we will seek to run a Court-approved marketing and sale process.  In connection therewith, we have a committed buyer for our continuing locations, and we will continue to market our assets as a going concern to maximize value.  This decision was made to strengthen our financial foundation by reducing liabilities – including closing certain locations – to ensure business continuity and to position the Company for long-term success and growth. During this process, which we intend to move through as quickly as possible, the Company will continue to operate as usual, serving our customers, working with our partners and supporting our team members. Any gift cards or event deposits will be honored at continuing locations, and we are confident this step will allow us to emerge stronger and better positioned to serve guests and stakeholders in the future.

Last November, the company opened its Walnut Creek location on November 15 where it featured a full-service bistro serving chef-driven Italian-American cuisine and handcrafted cocktails, eight bowling lanes, two indoor bocce courts and private event spaces for groups of up to 1,500 — it was also estimated to bring 150 jobs to Walnut Creek.

Occupying 25,000 sq. ft. along South Main Street, Pinstripes’ 100-seat bistro features an elevated menu with enticing seasonal starters and entrées, a thoughtfully curated wine list and handcrafted cocktails. Restaurant-style seating provides guests with the flexibility to enjoy their meals at booths, tables surrounding the bar, or in front of big-screen TVs airing major sporting events on the expansive upstairs and downstairs outdoor patios.

According to Walnut Creek Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Wilk, he stated online that the company gave no notice and they are winding down 8 other venues.
