Martinez, CA – The Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, is once again partnering with California State Parks for “Destination Weddings,” a very popular event that brings weddings to the Summit of Mount Diablo. The event, scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, has limited appointments available.
Sixteen couples will be married by County Clerk-Recorder staff at the summit. Mount Diablo, with arguably the largest vantage point on the West Coast, is also a historic landmark in Contra Costa County.
“Our team is always excited for this Destination Weddings event,” said Kristin B. Connelly, Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder and Commissioner of Civil Marriages. “Mount Diablo is such a special place and the Clerk-Recorder staff really enjoy the opportunity to offer this incredible location to couples.”
Ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the mountain summit. A civil ceremony will be performed for each couple with sweeping views as the background, offering beautiful memories at the top of Contra Costa County’s Highest peak.
Due to the popularity of this event, limited appointments are still available. Walk-ins and unscheduled appointments will not be accepted.
Couples must obtain a valid marriage license prior to their scheduled ceremony. Licenses can be purchased at the Clerk-Recorder’s Office in Martinez. The fee for a public marriage license is $95, and a confidential license is $100. The civil ceremony fee for Destination Weddings is $120.
